Non-compliant employers may be affected by the Commonwealth Government Contract Compliance policy. The policy does not form part of the Act, but supports its implementation through two measures:

  1. Commonwealth departments and agencies will not enter into contracts for the purchase of goods and services with non-compliant organisations; and
  2. Employers that have been named in Parliament for non-compliance with the Act will not be eligible for grants under specified industry assistance programs.

Some states also have contract compliance policies in support of the Act.
