When to Report
You are required to submit your report to EOWA by 31 May annually.

Reports are retrospective, and cover the year prior to the reporting date. You may submit your report any time within the two months prior to 31 May, ie, between 01 April to 31 May annually. Reports submitted early will receive priority assessment and feedback by EOWA

ie, the Workplace Program you report on will cover the 12 month period from 1 April in the previous year to 31 March in the reporting year.

Date of Workplace Profile
You must ensure that the workplace profile in your report refers to a date no earlier than six months prior to the beginning of the actual program period (ie, no earlier than October in the year preceding 1 April, which is the day the reporting period commences).

Reporting Cycle Timeline
The reporting cycle timeline highlights the critical steps in the reporting period:

By spreading your actions over the ‘compliance cycle’ you can:

  • Avoid an intense human resource commitment at one time of the year; and
  • Integrate equal opportunity into ongoing business planning and strategic activities.

At the beginning of the reporting period you should:

  • Prepare your workplace profile;
  • Conduct your analysis, including consultation with your employees, to identify and prioritise equal opportunity issues for women; and
  • Plan your actions.

During the reporting period:

  • You will take the planned actions.

At the end of the reporting period:

  • You need to report on your actions;
  • Prepare your workplace profile to assist you to evaluate your actions over the reporting period. This profile can then be used to help you identify issues for the next reporting period;
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of your actions; and
  • Plan your actions for the next reporting year.

Did you know . . .

That 65% of the workforce is female, yet top management is still 90% male?

Quote
“Women are 50 percent of the equation. Choosing not to work with women is like trying to progress with one hand tied behind your back.”

... Ernst & Young Australia CEO, Brian Schwartz
