The Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency (EOWA) abides by strict privacy guidelines to ensure that the user's privacy is respected and maintained at all times.

The EOWA treats personal information as confidential. Information received by EOWA is protected from unauthorised disclosure by virtue of the Migration Act 1958, Crimes Act 1914, the Privacy Act 1988, Public Service Act 1999 and the Public Service Regulations 1999. A breach of these laws makes an officer liable to criminal and/or civil penalty.

EOWA may, at times, send your company material from other organisations for the sole purpose of notifying you of relevant equal opportunity information such as lectures, events, programs or publications. If you DO NOT want EOWA to send your organisation this information please advise by phoning our database administrator on (02) 9432 7000  or emailing us at eowa@eowa.gov.au

Site Visit Data
This website is operated by EOWA with outsourced technical assistance from the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations. We log the following information for statistical purposes:

  • The user’s server address,
  • The user’s top level domain name (for example .com, .gov, .au, .uk etc),
  • The date and time of visit to the site,
  • The pages accessed and documents downloaded,
  • The user’s previous site visited,
  • The user’s web browser version (e.g. Netscape 4.x, Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 etc);
  • The users operating system (e.g. Windows 98, NT Unix etc);

This information is not specific to an individual and is used for system administration purposes, as well as statistical analysis. While this anonymous information does not tell us anything about you specifically, it tells us about how you use our site.

No attempt is made by EOWA to identify users or their browsing activities except, in the unlikely event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect EOWA's logs.

EOWA uses one cookie to track if you have voted in one of our polls. You are NOT identifiable from this data. Data is stored so that you can not vote twice on a poll.

The EOWA site does use scripting to enable feedback - via e-mail, not electronic form - to occur, however no personal information is captured or stored by these scripts, and the script source may be easily viewed by choosing the 'View Source' option in your browser.

This site collects personally identifiable information, including your name and email details. These details are collected when a visitor to this site chooses to send online feedback to EOWA and chooses to include their personal details. Some printable forms also collect address details.

We will not disclose this information without your consent, unless required by law.
