Quote

"The gains of result years indicate a greater awareness that women will be the main source of future labour force growth. But changes to public policy and workplace practice are required if we are to create more secure and rewarding careers for women. Not the least we have to find new ways for women to reconcile the dual demands of family and working life. We need to help men in this as well.
"

- David Morgan, CEO, Westpac

2003 Australian Women In Leadership Census:
Confirmed Launch Date, Sponsorship & AICD Luncheon

This year's launch date for the 2003 Australian Women in Leadership Census will be 1 October. The highly anticipated Census results will measure both the status of women on boards and women corporate officers in Australia's top 200 private sector companies. EOWA's aim is to use these results to inspire action to get more women into leadership positions.

EOWA is delighted to announce that our Platinum sponsors are ANZ and Esanda, our Gold sponsor is Macquarie University and our Silver sponsor is Edith Cowan University.
In association with this event, the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) will be hosting a Census luncheon on 2 October 2003 in Sydney.

Family Friendly Agreement Clauses Database
Employers and employees can now access an exciting new web-based tool on the Work and Family website - a database containing a range of family friendly clauses from federally certified agreements.
This database can assist in the development and implementation of flexible working arrangements. Users will be able to search for examples of flexible working clauses drawn from organisations of different sizes and types and operating in diverse business environments. Employers and HR staff may find a family-friendly clause that they can then adapt to their particular workplace.
The database is being developed by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations and will expand over time to meet the needs of employers and employees.
