The cost of domestic violence

A study, commissioned under the Australian Government's Partnerships Against Domestic Violence initiative, found that domestic violence cost Australia $8.1 billion in 2002-03. The direct cost to business of domestic violence is estimated to be $1.5 billion. $28 million is lost through absenteeism, $6 million in staff turnover and $600 million is lost through lower productivity. How your business can help prevent domestic violence

Violence against women is your business. Employers with domestic violence policies and trained staff in place are able to take early action to provide information and access to professional services which may prevent major productivity losses through absenteeism and reduced work rates. White Ribbon Day - November 25

Wearing a white ribbon shows you believe that violence against women is unacceptable.  For information on how your organisation can buy a box of white ribbons to distribute free to staff click here..
