Sex-Based Harassment in the
Workplace
 |
Sex-based harassment in the workplace
is distressing and illegal, as well as costly and disruptive to an
organisation. A review by HREOC found that by the time a sex-based
harassment complaint was made, only 7% of complainants remained at
the organisation. 67% of all complainants had resigned and 10% had
taken leave. Compensation paid ranged from $500-$200,000. In almost
all cases, the compensation was paid by the employer.
