Resources on Pay Equity
As at August 2008, women's
average weekly income was 84% of men's average weekly income*.
The major difference between men's and women's pay cheques is a result
of the lesser value placed on the industries and type of work that
traditionally attract more women, such as nursing and teaching, and the fact
that women continue to be segregated in lower-paid and part-time roles.
