The 2008 EOWA Employer of Choice for Women list was released on Tuesday, 4 March 2008.

To apply for next year's Employer of Choice for Women citation, view the Information and Application Kit.

Women-friendly, non-government organisations with Equal Opportunity (EO) programs that recognise and advance their female workforce can brand and position themselves in the marketplace as an 'EOWA Employer of Choice for Women' (EOCFW).

If your organisation’s EOWA program has been assessed as either compliant with the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Act 1999 in the current year, or your organisation has a current waiver from reporting, you can apply for the EOWA Employer of Choice for Women citation by submitting an application by 15 October each year.

Non-government organisations with 80-100 employees which do not currently report to EOWA can now apply.

Organisations whose achievements have been acknowledged by this award, can use this citation in their recruitment, advertising and other company promotional material.

This prestigious citation provides significant positioning in a competitive marketplace, particularly when a company is seeking to attract the best possible talent.

The ‘EOWA Employer of Choice for Women’ citation allows organisations to differentiate themselves from their competitors and achieve public acknowledgment of their efforts in the area of equal opportunity for women.

EOWA's workshop, 'Positioning your business for waiving, EOWA Employer of Choice for Women and Business Achievement Awards' is specifically designed to assist you with your ‘EOWA Employer of Choice for Women’ application. Please click here for workshop details

Quote

"The company that helps give women control over their own lives and helps them with the things that are not working for them—by providing more flexibility, more networking opportunities, a better work environment and more challenging work—will see more women stay. It’s not a compliance issue; it’s not a diversity issue, and it’s not a social responsibility issue. Yes, it’s the right thing to do, but it’s also the strategic thing to do for Westpac."
