Katherine who has applied for a job at your organisation, is a recent
PhD graduate in Sociology (her topic was on Gender Equity in Private
Sector Organisations) from Melbourne. She presents at the interview as
untidy and overweight. She lives with her parents in Adelaide and would
have to move to Sydney or Melbourne. In response to your question about
where she expected to be in five years time, she said she was looking
for a career with your organisation and hoped that she had been able to
make a sufficient contribution to ensure her speedy advancement. Her
academic record is excellent, being in the top 5% of the class. She has
been highly involved in student and community politics (being the
president of the Women's Action Alliance). She listed as her interests
drama and feminist studies. She has excellent recommendations from
academic staff and from her current employer (The Social Justice Centre
in the SA Attorney General’s Department).
