Look for evidence of commitment at three levels: knowledge (head), passion (heart) and the demonstration of skills. Managers should be unconsciously competent in showing commitment to equal opportunity for women in the workplace.

  • Direct your energy for change at both individual managers and the management team;
  • Support line managers as they are critical for driving day-to-day business operations;
  • Use a range of creative enablers to engage and sustain management commitment;
  • Base your own strategy on five factors:
    1. Determine your own vision of management commitment
    2. Articulate your business case for management commitment
    3. Identify the current level of management commitment
    4. Determine the creative enablers that will make the difference in your organisation
    5. Measurement and evaluation.
