The objectives of this workshop are to:

  • Identify the business arguments and personal, workgroup and organisational opportunities for redesigning work practices and expectation;
  • Identify the core business deliverables for particular work areas that either need to be maintained or improved;
  • Identify the barriers to implementing change in the workplace (this process needs to be specific to the flexibility initiatives and the particular work area); and
  • Develop an individual action plan and the skills and resources needed for effective implementation. This involves;
  1. Using the “Work by Design” tool: a tool for conducting a work redesign process;
  2. Outlining techniques and processes for introducing specific flexibility initiatives into a workgroup;
  3. Providing experiences to develop leadership skills and having the knowledge and skills to implement a workplace change process; and
  4. A summary plan that includes
    a. What one person can do; and
    b. What one work group can do.

A follow-up meeting/consultation should be held six weeks after the workshop. The purpose of this is to evaluate and affirm progress, identify barriers and skills and resources gaps, and revise the action plan.

For more information see the Suggested Outline of the Workshop.
