 Home : Developing a Workplace Program : Six Steps To a Workplace Program : Step 2 : Consultation Tools Return to the previous submenu
The tools shown in bold in the following table are suggestions for organisations that are starting out or that want to improve the effectiveness of their workplace program. The list is not intended to be prescriptive. Your organisation may already have in place other methods of consultation that are highlighting issues for women.

The tools listed under Level 1 are not difficult to organise and will provide extensive information on the issues which are of concern to your staff. They are listed in order from those simplest to implement to those which are more complex.

The issues which your organisation identifies from your consultation processes and which relate to the seven Employment Matters listed below are the issues that need to be considered for your EOWA workplace program.

  • Recruitment and Selection;
  • Promotion, Transfer and Termination of employment;
  • Training and Development;
  • Work Organisation;
  • Conditions of Service;
  • Arrangements for dealing with Sex-Based Harassment
  • Arrangements for dealing with Pregnancy, or Potentially Pregnant employees and employees who are Breastfeeding their children.

The magnitude of the issues identified and the organisational resources available will determine which issues your organisation will prioritise and action in your EOWA program.

Once you have gathered information using the above tools, click here for Next Steps.
