Issue 3 - Reference Checking Case Study: How to use Referee Information i. Helena Doppolous: Verbal Reference from Department Manager A diligent person who is well respected by her peers, Helena has significant potential, and would most likely find her feet in this new role quite quickly. Always prepared to contribute that little bit extra, Helena is reliable and trustworthy. The feedback associated with her work on the cross-company customer service project has been excellent, and there is a lot of evidence to demonstrate that she interacts well with people at all levels. I highly recommend Helena for the position. i. Helena Doppolous: Verbal Reference from University Lecturer A meticulous student who is always very supportive of other students in need of help. While quiet by nature, Helena never hesitates to ask for help when she needs it and is very comfortable pursuing an issue if she disagrees with the position being proposed. Her work is thorough and always submitted on time. A very high calibre student. ii. Roger Townhill: Verbal Reference from Football Coach Roger is a highly motivated, self-disciplined person. His teammates respect him and know that they can rely on him for support and guidance in good times and tough times. I have always found him to be alert and able to focus his attention clearly in order to achieve his goals. He’s a great sporting role model for our younger players. ii. Roger Townhill: Verbal Reference from Store Manager I have known Roger for 6 years. Originally he worked in our sports store on a casual basis while studying at university. Having gained full time employment he kept his hand in by producing our weekly Sports News briefing sheet for staff, keeping everyone updated on local and national sporting events and awards. I have always found Roger to be a positive person. He is naturally one of those people who is able to keep people’s spirits up, no matter what the circumstances. His sense of humor has made him a welcome addition to our staff. Always assertive, Roger knows how to stand his ground. He’s someone who goes that extra bit further to have his point of view heard, happy to risk the consequences. Proceed to Issue
