 Home : Business Achievement Awards

The 2008 EOWA Business Achievement Awards was held in Melbourne on Wednesday, 19 November. For information on this year’s BAA event and nomination process, please visit the 2008 EOWA Business Achievement Awards page.

EOWA’s Business Achievement Awards are a critical event in the EOWA calendar as a way of focusing attention on working women, and putting Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) on the national agenda.

The Business Achievement Awards are in recognition of those non-government organisations which are at the forefront of driving change for a more equitable workplace.

Announcement

BAA Award winners are announced at the annual EOWA Business Achievement Awards (BAA) event and are then included on our website shortly thereafter.

PLEASE NOTE: Winners from the previous year’s Business Achievement Awards will be ineligible to enter the same award category in the current year, although they will be eligible to enter different categories. This is designed to encourage, inspire and motivate new entries and to identify and profile undiscovered capability.

Did you know . . .

In an attempt to attract more women into its non-traditional industry for women, SCI Fleet redesigned an ordinarily 6 day per week car retailing position into part-time positions. The company now has 2 female part-time sales staff, which is very unusual in this industry.

Quote
"There's no doubt that the impact of having children and wanting to work flexibly limits women's choices in their career. My approach has been to...encourage everyone in the company, male or female, to stop squeezing life around their work - and instead to 'get a life' and squeeze work around their life."
