In the third year of these awards, seven awards will be given in recognition of Equal Employment Opportunity excellence.

The awards, and the criteria by which the winners will be judged, are:

Award 1 : Leading CEO for the Advancement of Women

Presented by EOWA and Australian Industry Group

Awarded to the person who:

  • Leads by example through personal commitment
  • Drives management accountability for action
  • Creates an inclusive workplace culture
  • Goes the extra mile for the advancement of women, and
  • Delivers improved outcomes for women and the business.


Award 2 : Diversity Leader for the Advancement of Women

Sponsored by Autoliv

Awarded to the HR/Diversity champion who shows he/she:

  • Understands EEO for women issues and how to address them
  • Integrates EEO for women into the business strategy
  • Educates the organisation on the issues affecting women’s employment
  • Takes action on issues relating to the employment matters, and
  • Delivers improved outcomes for women and the business.


Award 3 : Leading Organisation for the Advancement of Women
(<500 employees)

Awarded to the organisation that demonstrates that it:

  • Strategically positions EEO for women
  • Has excellent analysis, including consultation with employees
  • Drives an inclusive organisational culture
  • Takes action on issues relating to employment matters, and
  • Delivers improved outcomes for women and the business.


Award 4: Leading Organisation for the Advancement of Women (>500 employees)

Awarded to the organisation that demonstrates that it:

  • Strategically positions EEO for women
  • Has excellent analysis, including consultation with employees

  • Takes action on issues relating to employment matters, and

Award 5: Outstanding EEO Practice for the Advancement of Women

This award is to recognise an innovative or effective achievement by an organisation that has made a positive difference for women in the workplace by:

  • Implementing a strategic innovative and/or effective practice that advances EEO for women
  • Effectively addressing EEO for women issue(s), and
  • Demonstrating positive outcomes for women in the workplace.

Award 6: Outstanding Result for the Advancement of Women

Sponsored by Commonwealth Bank of Australia

This award recognises a single key result, or several key results arising from systematic organisational change.

  • Outcomes/Results of initiative(s) are outstanding for women
  • Outcomes/Results are clearly definable
  • Outcomes/Results are aligned with the business strategy
  • CEO and Managers demonstrate commitment to the advancement of women

Award 7: Most Promising Person or Organisation for the Advancement of Women

Sponsored by Alcoa

This award recognises the most promising person or organisation for the Advancement of Women and is awarded by an independent judging panel. Therefore, this award cannot be nominated for.
