2008 Award Categories and Nomination Forms

In this ninth year of the EOWA Business Achievement Awards, the below awards will be given in recognition of excellence in Equal Employment Opportunity.

Please note that all nominations are due by Thursday, 31 July 2008. Nominations will only be accepted by email in the format set out in the nomination forms linked below. Please send all nomination forms to: baanomination@eowa.gov.au .

The awards and criteria by which the winners will be judged for 2008 are:


Award 1 : Leading CEO for the Advancement of Women

Presented by EOWA and Australian Industry Group

Awarded to the person who:

  • Leads by example through personal commitment;
  • Drives management accountability for action;
  • Creates an inclusive workplace culture;
  • Goes the extra mile for the advancement of women; and
  • Delivers improved outcomes for women and the business.

Award 2 : Diversity Leader for the Advancement of Women

Awarded to the HR/Diversity champion who shows he/she:

  • Understands EEO for women issues and how to address them;
  • Integrates EEO for women into the business strategy;
  • Educates the organisation on the issues affecting women’s employment;
  • Takes action on issues relating to the employment matters; and
  • Delivers improved outcomes for women and the business.

Award 8: The Minister's Award for Outstanding EEO Practice in the Advancement of Indigenous Women

Presented by the Minister for the Status of Women
Nominees will be required to describe how the nominated organisation has implemented an innovative or effective practice that has made a positive difference for indigenous women, addressing the following criteria:

  • Implemented a strategic innovative and/or effective practice that advances EEO for indigenous women;
  • Effectively addressed EEO issue(s) for indigenous women;
  • Demonstrated positive outcomes for indigenous women.
