| 2003 EOWA Australian Women In Leadership Census |
|
On 1 October 2003 the results of the 2003 Australian Censuses of Women Board Directors and Women Executive Managers were released. Undertaken in partnership with the Catalyst organisation in the United States (www.catalyst.org) and in collaboration with Macquarie University, the Censuses to determine the status of women in the most senior leadership positions for the top 200 organisations listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. In 2002, the inaugural Census highlighted the under representation of
women in Australian leadership and the subsequent under-utilisation of
the talents of the vast female workforce. In 2003, there has been very
little change. By quantifying the
deficiency, we hope to inspire business leaders to think differently
when making decisions about the next executive appointment.
